Role of the reviewer
Reviewers assess scientific quality, methodological clarity, relevance, originality, ethical reporting and whether conclusions are supported by the presented evidence.
Confidentiality
Submitted manuscripts and review materials should be treated as confidential and should not be used for personal advantage.
Competing interests
Reviewers should disclose relationships or circumstances that could compromise—or reasonably appear to compromise—an impartial review and decline when appropriate.
Review report
Comments should be specific, constructive and evidence-based. Reviewers should identify major methodological or reporting concerns, distinguish essential revisions from optional suggestions and avoid personal remarks.
Peer-review model
The journal must formally approve and publish its exact peer-review model (for example, single-anonymised or double-anonymised) before accepting submissions through the relaunched system.
